Scenario

Your organization has decided to expand their home security offerings by adding alarm systems.

To start, they want to offer the below home alarm systems. Configure the application to support the new products.

Name	List price	Description
Interlogix Home Alarm	$1,500	Home security system complete with fully programmable main unit and sensors.
Dome Smart Alarm	$800	Easy to install with wireless sensors that can be integrated in minutes with automated Fast-Response alarms to instantly notify authorities.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Add a product group for alarm systems.

Task 2: Add the products to the product group.

Detailed Tasks

1 Add a product group for alarm systems

1. Log in to your exercise system as the sales operations user.
2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, click Tools. The Tools page is displayed.
3. From the Tools page, click Products. A list of product categories is displayed.
4. On the Manage products page, click Security to expand the category and view the families.
5. From the Manage Products screen, click Create product. The Create product dialog is displayed.
6. Enter the following information to create Alarm Systems product group:
   1. Type: Group
   2. Name: Alarm Systems
   3. Family: Home Security
7. Click Submit to save the product group in the Home Security product family.

2 Add the products to the product group

1. From the Manage Products screen, click Create product. The Create product dialog is displayed.
2. Enter the following information to create the Interlogix Home Alarm product:
   1. Type: Product
   2. Name: Interlogix Home Alarm
   3. Selling mode: B2C
   4. Group: Alarm Systems
   5. List price: $1,500
   6. Description: Home security system complete with fully programmable main unit and sensors.
3. Click Submit to save the product in the Alarm Systems product family.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 with to create the Dome Smart Alarm product:
   1. Type: Product
   2. Name: Dome Smart Alarm
   3. Selling mode: B2C
   4. Group: Alarm Systems
   5. List price: $800
   6. Description: Easy to install with wireless sensors that can be integrated in minutes with automated Fast-Response alarms to instantly notify authorities.

Confirm your work

1. Log in to your exercise system as the sales representative.
2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, select Create > Individual Opportunity. The Opportunity page is displayed.
3. Scroll down to the Products section.
4. In the Products section, click Add product to add a product to the opportunity.
5. Click the Product name field and hit the down-arrow on your keyboard to display the list of available products.
6. Verify that you can add the new alarm systems products you just created.
