Scenario

Noah Smith receives a call from Ian Thomas. Ian wants to install a Voice over IP (VoIP) system for his small business. Noah schedules a meeting with Ian. As a result, Noah wants to convert the lead to an opportunity.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Role User name Password
Sales representative NSmith rules

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Convert the lead to an opportunity.

Task 2: Verify your work.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Detailed Tasks

1 Convert the lead to an opportunity

  1. Log in to your exercise system as the sales representative Noah Smith.
  2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, select Leads to open the leads page, then select the Individual Leads tab.
  3. Click the lead for Ian Thomas to open the lead.
  4. On the lead page, expand the Assignments section, then in the Work on lead task, select Go.
  5. In the Contact Lead task, click Yes and then click Submit.
  6. In the Work on Lead task, you provide information from your meeting with Ian and qualify the lead. Enter the following values.
    1. Is lead blacklisted?: No
    2. Identify need: Business Voice over IP (VoIP)
    3. Identify budget: $1200
    4. Approximate timeline: 3 weeks
    5. Qualify/Disqualify lead: Qualify
  7. Click Submit to qualify the lead. The Assignments section displays the Convert lead settings.
  8. Complete the Convert lead settings by using the following values:
    1. Contact: To existing contact
    2. Existing contact: Ian Thomas
    3. Opportunity: To new opportunity
    4. Opportunity name: Business VoIP for Ian Thomas
    5. Amount: 1200
    6. Close date: <enter a future date>
  9. Click Submit to convert the lead.

2 Verify your work

  1. On the left, from the Explorer panel, select Opportunities to open the opportunities page.
  2. On the opportunities page, select the Individual opportunities tab.
  3. In the Stage: Qualification section, select Business VoIP for Ian Thomas. The lead for Ian Thomas is displayed.
  4. Verify that the Business VoIP for Ian Thomas opportunity was created.
