Scenario

A Banking company requires its customer service representatives to manually confirm accounts payments or debits from the BankerInsight application with the invoices and payments in the Pega Finance application. To streamline this manual process, create a robotic project, and then add and configure the necessary two applications first. 

The business case requires two separate applications: BankerInsight desktop application and Pega Finance webpage.  

Complete the following tasks:

• Create the Robotic Banking project in Pega Robot Studio.
• Add the BankerInsight Windows application and configure its properties.
• Add the Pega Robotic Automation Finance web application as a Chrome application and configure its properties. The robotic project should only work with the Finance web application and not impact other applications accessed in the browser. 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Create a new project in Pega Robot Studio using Quick start wizard

1. Start Pega Robot Studio to display the start page.
2. Click Let's go to open the Quick start wizard.
   
3. In the Quick Start wizard, in the Project name field, enter Robotic Banking. 
   
4. Click Next to advance to the Set up application section of the Quick Start wizard. 
5. In the Set up application section, click Windows Desktop Application.
6. In the Desktop application name field, enter BankerInsight.
   
7. Next to the Path field, click the More icon to open the Select executable window.
8. In the Select executable window, navigate to C:\Users\<user name>\Desktop\BankerInsight, select the BankerInsight application icon, and then click Open. 
   
9. In the Quick Start wizard, click Next to confirm that you are adding an application and advance to the Create automation section of the Quick Start wizard.
10. In the Create automation section, in the Automation name field, enter Main automation. 
    
11. Click Launch recorder to open the Recording assistant and the BankerInsight application. 
    Note: The BankerInsight application is now ready to record the first automation. The recording is not in the scope of this challenge. 
12. Click the Close icon to close the Recording assistant.
13. Confirm cancellation of recording when prompted. 
14. Click Save all to save the project. 

 

2 Add the Pega Finance web application to the project

1. On the toolbar, click Project to return to the Project Explorer.
2. On the Project Explorer, click Add > Application to open the Add new application window. 
   
3. In the Add new application window, click Web browser.
4. In the Browser type field, select Chrome. 
5. In the Web application or website name field, enter Pega Finance.
6. In the Starting URL field, enter https://roboticstraining.pega.com.
   
7. Click Add to add the Pega Finance application to the project and display the Application designer in Pega Robot Studio. 
8. In the Application designer, on the Application tab, change the StartOnProjectStart parameter to false.
9. On the property grid, on the AcceptedDomains property, click the More icon to open the AcceptedDomain Collection Editor.
   
10. In the AcceptedDomain Collection Editor, click Add to add a new domain.
11. Change the AcceptedDomain properties to the following values:

    Parameter	Value
    Domain	roboticstraining.pega.com
    Mode	Contains

     
    
12. Click OK to close AcceptedDomain Collection Editor.
13. On the Property grid, change the EnableX-RayVsion property value to false.
    
14. Click Save all to save the project. 

Confirm your work

1. On the Project Explorer, click BankerInsight to open the Windows application tab.
2. On the Windows application tab, click Interrogate to begin the interrogation. 
3. Ensure that the Interrogation Form and BankerInsight application are correctly displayed. 
   
4. Close the Interrogation form.
5. On the Project Explorer, click Pega Finance to open a Pega Finance tab.
6. On the Pega Finance tab, click Interrogate button to being the interrogation. 
7. Ensure that the Interrogation Form and Pega Robotic Automation Finance webpage are correctly displayed.
