Scenario

U+Bank is going through a reclassification of their help content. As a Super User you are tasked with importing the current knowledge base of articles from the CSV file to which they have already been exported. Use the CSV file to change the content type of all articles to FAQ, and then import them again. Lastly, use the bulk processing feature to change the publishing status of the articles.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Edit the CSV file.

Save the provided CSV file to your computer. Change the attributes of the specified article as described in the Detailed Tasks section of this page.

Task 2: Import content from the CSV file.

Import the CSV file into Pega Knowledge. Ensure that the articles have been successfully imported.

Task 3: Use bulk processing to change the status of the imported articles.

All imported content is moved automatically to the Knowledge Content-Imported workbasket, in the New-Draft Stage. As KMpublisher, use bulk processing to change this status to Resolved-Publish.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Challenge Walkthrough

Detailed Tasks

1 Edit the CSV file

  1. Click this link to download the file KM Content CSV to your computer, then extract the contents of the  .zip file.
  2. In the ContentID column, of the CSV file, locate article KC-30.
  3. In the Category column, change the article for the article KC-30 category from Customer Service > Retail Banking to Customer Service > Retail Banking, Credit Card Information.
  4. In the Tags column, add the tag debit card for article KC-30.
  5. In the ContentType column, change the value for all rows to FAQ.

The CSV file is now ready to be imported into the Pega Knowledge application.

2 Import content from the CSV file

  1. On the exercise system landing page, click Pega Infinity™ to log in as a Super User.
    1. In the Username field, enter kmsysuperuser.
    2. In the Password field, enter password123!.
  2. In the navigation pane of Pega Knowledge, click Knowledge > Content.
  3. Click the Bulk transactions tab.
  4. Click the Import tab.
  5. Click Import.
  6. In the Import content dialog box, click Choose file, and then select the KM Content CSV file.
  7. Click Import.
  8. In the Successful imports list, verify that articles KC-30, KC-33 KC-43, KC-7, KC-16 have been successfully imported.
Note: If the articles are not successfully imported, the Comments column will provide information about the cause of the failure.
  1. In the upper-right corner, click KMSuperUser > Log off to log out.

3 Use bulk processing to change the status of the imported articles

  1. On the exercise system landing page, click Pega Infinity™ to log in as a Publisher.
    1. In the Username field, enter kmpublisher.
    2. In the Password field, enter password123!.
  2. In the navigation pane of Pega Knowledge, click Knowledge > Content.
  3. To the left of the Name column, select the checkbox to mark all articles for bulk processing.
  4. Click Actions > Change status.
  5. In the Status dropdown, select Resolved-Published.
  6. Click Submit.

Confirm your work

  1. In the navigation pane of Pega Knowledge, click Knowledge>Content.
  2. Verify that the Category and Status of articles are FAQ and Resolved-Published respectively.
