Scenario

Your company wants to optimize lead management by distributing incoming business-to-business (B2B) leads among sales representatives based on the following rules. The rules are listed in the order of priority.

  1. If the industry is insurance or healthcare route to Alex Porter.
  2. Route all other leads to the sales representative with least workload in the LeadWorkGroup work group.

The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Create a routing rule.

Task 2: Verify the routing rule.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Create a routing rule

  1. Log in to Pega Sales Automation as the sales operations user:
    1. In the User name field, enter SFASampleSalesOps.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. In the navigation pane of Sales Automation, click Tools.
  3. On the Tools landing page, in the Manage section, click Lead routing.
  4. In the Route to list, select Operator.
  5. In the Value field, enter or select Alex Porter.
  6. Configure the condition for the lead routing:
    1. In the first list, enter or select Industry.
    2. In the second list, select is equal to.
  7. To the right of the third field, click the Gear icon to open the Select values window:
    1. In the Type list, select Choices.
    2. In the second list, select Insurance, and then click Submit.
  8. On the right, click the Add icon to add another condition:
    1. In the first list, enter or select Industry.
    2. In the second list, select is equal to.
  9. To the right of the third field, click the Gear icon to open the Select values window:
    1. In the Type list, select Choices.
    2. In the second list, select Healthcare, and then click Submit.
  10. On the line between the two conditions, change and to or.
  11. In the otherwise condition, in the Route to list, select Route based on availability, skillset and work load, and then click Edit parameters:
    1. In the Workgroup list, select Specify value.
    2. In the second field, enter or select LeadWorkGroup, and then click Ok.
  12. In the upper-right corner, click Save.

2 Verify the routing rule

  1. In the navigation pane of Sales Automation, select Create > Business Lead.
  2. In the New business Lead dialog box, configure the lead:
    1. In the Last name field, enter Smith.
    2. Next to the Owner list, click on the icon, and then select Automatic (use routing logic).
    3. In the Territory list, select South West.
    4. In the Company field, enter ABC Anything Inc.
    5. In the Industry list, select Finance, Industry, Real estate, and then click Submit to close the dialog box.
  3. In the summary panel of the business lead, verify that the owner is Alex Porter.
  4. In the lower-left corner, click the user profile icon, and then select Log off to log out of Sales Automation.
  5. Log in to Pega Sales Automation as the sales representative:
    1. In the User name field, enter aporter.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  6. In the navigation pane of Sales Automation, click Leads.
  7. Verify that the new lead is displayed in the list of leads.
