Internationalization in Pega Government Platform

Internationalization is a Pega Government Platform™ feature that allows you to:

  • Select the countries that your application is designed to work with. The list of countries and the states or provinces are fetched from the system of record (SOR). From this list, you can select only the countries that you want to display in the Country drop-down list in your application.
  • Configure the text to display as the label for the States drop-down list. For example, in Canada, you have Provinces, in New Zealand, you have States, and in the UK, you have Counties. You can associate different labels to the states or provinces for different countries.

While the list of countries and states is retrieved from the SOR, the text label comes from the configuration. You can configure this easily from the Internationalization landing page in App Studio as shown in the following image:

After making your configurations, the Country drop-down list shows only the country names that you have configured on the Internationalization landing page. If only one country is configured, the drop-down shows the configured country as a default value. Also, in the intake screen, the state labels change automatically based on your selection as shown in the following images.
