User experience (UX) and user interface (UI)

UX is the total experience of a user, such as the workflow of users, the data that is displayed on a screen, the order and structure of that data, how multiple screens fit together cohesively, and, ultimately, how the tools succeed or fail. Many professionals work in user experience, including designers, product owners, engineers, marketers, and copywriters. Examples like the format of the date field, phone number etc. Accessibility is as well one such feature which highlights the importance of UX.

User interface (UI) is the set of technical elements on a screen or other interface. UI is an important part of an overall UX strategy. Example the sections, the layouts.

Accessibility features

The UI components of Pega Platform™ support W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) standards. Web Accessibility permits users with visual or other impairments to leverage assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.

Pega Platform automatically inserts Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) attributes into its UI content. There is no need for additional configuration settings, such as manually including the PegaWAI ruleset and enabling accessibility for access groups. Accessibility features are available in Constellation and Theme Cosmos applications.

Pega Platform also includes the Accessibility Inspector tool, which helps to identify and rectify some of the accessibility issues in your application. The Accessibility Inspector is available in both App Studio and Dev Studio. For example, Accessibility Inspector includes a color confusion simulator that helps you determine whether the colors that you use in your application are readable to users with color blindness.
