Setting the selling mode

Scenario

Your business is currently selling to both consumers and businesses. The selling mode of the application is set to mixed mode. Going forward you are planning to focus on businesses (B2B) only.

You want to understand what impact the change from business-to-business and business-to-customer (B2B & B2C) to B2B has in the application user interface.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Check current landing pages and create menu options.

Task 2: Change the selling mode to B2B.

Task 3: Verify the change to landing pages and create menu options.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Detailed Tasks

1 Check current landing pages and create menu options

  1. Log in to your exercise system as sales representative.
  2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, verify that the Organizations and Households are available.
  3. From the Explorer panel, click Create and verify that the options Individual Opportunity and Business Opportunity are available.
  4. From the Explorer panel, click Create and verify that the options Individual Lead and Business Lead are available.

2 Change the selling mode to B2B

  1. Log in to your exercise environment as sales operations.
  2. From the left navigation panel, click Administration > Configurations > Selling Mode to open the Selling Mode settings.
  3. Select the Business-to-business (B2B) from the Selling mode drop-down and click Save.

3 Verify the change to landing pages and create menu options

  1. Log in to your exercise system as the sales representative.
  2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, verify that the Household tab is no longer available.
  3. From the Explorer panel, click Create to verify that Individual Opportunity is no longer available. All opportunities created are B2B.
  4. From the Explorer panel, click Create to verify that Individual Lead is no longer available. All leads created are B2B.
