Adding an email account

Before creating an email bot, you must first create an integration with an email account within your Pega Platform™ application. Doing so allows the Pega Platform application to securely connect to the email account and later establish a listener. Once configured, the email account is displayed in the Email Accounts list in the Email Bot channel. Before you begin, you need a Gmail account to which you connect the Email Bot listener. 

  1. From App Studio, click Settings > Email Accounts to open the Email Accounts instance list. 
  2. In the Email Accounts instance list, click New to add a new email account.
  3. In the Email account settings dialog box, add the account details, and then select the email provider.
    In the Sender section, the Send using and Receive using lists auto-populate. 
  4. Optional: Select the Use sender’s ID and password check box to copy the credentials from the Sender section.
  5. Click Submit to add the account to your application.
    On the Email Accounts instance list, you see Success in the Connection status column for the new email account.
