Terry Mason, a sales representative, just got back from a meeting with Forest Gas.

Forest Gas requested technical specifications for the Ultra 265 Surveillance KIT they are interested in purchasing.

Terry is back in the office and wants to capture the meeting with Forest Gas Corp.

Customer interactions are captured by creating activities.

First, you need to find the sales entity for which you want to create an activity.

In this case, it is an opportunity, so you open the Opportunities page.

Select the type of opportunity that you want to update.

To quickly find the opportunity, filter on the company name.

Open the opportunity to add an activity.

Click Actions > Add activity.

Fill out the form with the meeting details and the outcome.

Click Create to add the customer interaction to the opportunity.

The activity is added as a Pulse message.

Terry also wants to follow up on the technical specifications Forest Gas requested.

To-dos that the sales team needs to follow up on are captured by creating tasks.

Click Actions > Add task.

Fill out the form with the task details.

You have the option to receive a reminder prior to the due date.

Click Create to add the task to the opportunity.

Close the task to get back to the opportunity.

The task is added to Terry’s To do list.

Terry has now captured the customer interaction and added a follow up task.
