Solution Architecture Document

The Architecture Document provides the specific design specifications required to configure the robotic solution and its projects, and outlines the solution’s development methodology and technical aspects. The Architecture document is a great resource for specific Pega Robotic configurations of components and variables for use in the solution and its projects.

While most Architecture documents contain the same sections, they will always be unique in structure, depending on the nature and scope of the solution and projects. Common sections include the following:

  • Overview
  • Special Limitations
  • Solution Configuration, Activities, and Context Variables
  • Solution Design
  • Project Implementation Details

Overview

The Overview section provides a high-level view of the processes of the robotic solution and its projects, with its specific development methodology and technical aspects of the solution. For example, the Overview section can outline the high-level use cases of a solution as well as the current process.

Special Limitations

The Special Limitations section details any constraints or customizations that are in place, in order to develop the solution. For example, a Special Limitations section might define that you focus on a specific portion of the Solution Design Document and that you use the Test Harness functionality.

Solution Configuration, Activities, and Context Variables

The Solution Configuration, Activities, and Context Variables sections outline the details of how the full solution will be configured, and the mechanisms that you need to consider when developing a part of the full solution. For example, the Activities and Context Variables sections describe the beginning structure of the Interaction Framework for the solution, and how it should be configured.

Solution Design

The Solution Design section defines specific solution configuration settings as they apply to such project items as applications, projects, and activities, their properties and corresponding values.

Project Implementation Details

The Project Implementation Details section outlines the architectural design for each project in the solution based on the Storyboard Processes and Features section of the solution design document (SDD). The SDD should be consulted when reviewing this section of the Architecture document for more detailed instructions or functionality. For example, the Project Implementation Details section might provide more information about the structure of the Activities and the Interaction Framework that is specific to a solution.
