Optimize delivery with Pega Express
The Pega Express values and best practices framework makes it quick and easy to assess an organization's existing delivery approach and select the relevant Pega Express best practices to optimize delivery of the Pega implementation.
In this topic, you explore the process for integrating Pega Express values and best practices into an organization's existing delivery approach when implementing Pega applications.
Assessing your project's delivery approach
To successfully integrate Pega Express with any delivery approach, review the organization's existing ways of working based on Pega Express values and best practices to identify where the approaches are aligned, where there are differences, and where there are gaps.
You work in collaboration with the Project Delivery Leads (PDLs) to conduct the review in five easy steps:
- Identify the best practices that are already incorporated into the organization's existing ways of working that align with the intent and outcomes defined by the Pega Express values and best practices.
- Identify the Pega Express best practices that are either not aligned or are not present in the project's existing delivery process.
- Prioritize the Pega Express best practices based on the impact on the success of your Pega implementation, and the feasibility of your organization adopting the Pega Express best practices.
- Create a best practice adoption plan based on the results of the prioritization making sure to prioritize the Pega Express best practices that provide the most value, and are the easiest to integrate into the project's delivery approach.
- Implement your adoption plan and continue to monitor your adoption along with the impact of each new best practice on the success of your Pega implementations.
The result of the review of the organization's existing ways of working relative to the Pega Express values and best practices can be depicted in a heatmap for reference throughout the project. An example of a heat map categorizing Pega Express values and best practices for use in the short and medium term, or those that currently are in use or require no action, are displayed in the following figure:
By integrating Pega Express values and best practices into the organization's existing delivery approach to collaboratively define new ways of working, the client organization can achieve both consistency in the overarching delivery approach and the benefits of optimization for your Pega project implementation.
