Preliminary analysis of Microjourneys

Pega LSA leads an application development by following Pega express values and best practices. Incorporate the recommended set of Pega express values and best practices into your project delivery approach to achieve maximum business value, at record time-to-market.

Consider the Microjourney® in the Pega Express™ delivery approach; Microjourneys are life cycles, or units of work, that deliver a meaningful result to customers and users. Before deciding whether to create a case or "customer journey," according to Pega Express, perform an analysis at the Microjourney level. In Pega Platform, a Microjourney represents a business process flow.

As an LSA, when you create a Pega Platform™ application, you do not need to create a case to perform every task. In theory, you can use a case to perform every task from a UI perspective but doing so can impact the maintainability of an application.

When you develop your Pega Platform solution, your design document resembles an argumentative essay and a logical progression for the identified Microjourneys. A logical progression is when you develop a thesis step-by-step. Each step in your thesis reaches a conclusion based on previously reached conclusions. When you follow this process, your audience can better comprehend and agree with your recommended design.

Before you decide whether a case type is warranted, the design team needs to conduct a preliminary analysis. Next topics of this module will help you understand more about design patterns and case structure design.
